INSTRUCTION
FINAL TASK: Self-Titled
Your final task consists of integrating the challenges from 3 different modules;
In your final task, you will bring together the knowledge and skills
acquired from three different modules: Typography, Illustration & Visual
Narrative, and Digital Imaging & Photography. Your goal is to create an
integrated poster that showcases your abilities in each of these areas. You
will use a custom font you've created (Typo), incorporate a self-portrait
(DIP), and weave a related motive (IVN) through the font and image,
resulting in a visually compelling and conceptually rich poster.Typography;
Illustration & Visual Narrative; and Digital Imaging &
Photography.
PART 1: IDEA DEVELOPMENT
1. Write a biography about yourself
My name is Tan Sin Mi, but my friend usually calls my nickname Sammi. I almost 20 years old, I am trying to be more mature than before. I was a BDCM student, I enjoy designing some creative things when I was free, so I chose to taking Creative Media course. I also like beautiful works of art, whether they are hand-painted, electronic paintings, music, comics, film and television works, etc. As long as it is beautiful, I will pay attention to it and understand it deeply!
2. Write a statement about your work
With the theme “Self-Titled”, I wanted to convey my transformation from teenager to adult. I will use some items that can express adults to bring out what I want to express. In addition, I will add some elements to represent the process of transformation. I hope that I could be more mature but still maintain a young mentality at the same time. Besides, I hope that growth will not be a shackle for me, but one of my experiences.

Be 'Me', Be 'Mi'
ARTIST STATEMENT:
This is my expectation for my future, to be myself and not to be bound by anything. As time moves forward slowly, I also grow up slowly. I will learn new knowledge from the world, observe all interesting people and things.
I will spread the wing called ‘Growth’ and fly to the unknown future.
I am who I am, be ‘Me’, be ‘Mi’.

REFLECTION
Self-titled, as the name suggests, allows us to feel the content and design of the work ourselves. Although the advantage of self-questioning is that I can decide what I want to do, it makes me more troubled because I don’t know how to start without a title. And in this project, we have to combine the knowledge and skills acquired from three different modules: Typography, Illustration & Visual Narrative, and Digital Imaging & Photography.
I first drew the theme I had in mind on my iPad. After I determined the general idea, I started to use Adobe software to digitize my sketch. After completing the first version of the work, I asked Mr. Hafiz and Mr. Fauzi for feedback. Finally, based on the feedback given by the lecturer, I made final revisions and completed the final project.
I think this final assignment is interesting and I enjoyed the creative process of this assignment. Especially when I finally done the final revisions, I felt very proud looking at my final project. At the same time, I was relieved because my first sem at Taylor’s also ended after completing this assignment.
