REFLECTION

1. What have I learnt in this module?
In this module, I have learnt each type principles of design, and also how to observe artworks and discover design principles within them. After these studies, I think I can use these techniques more clearly to express my ideas when viewing artworks or designing artworks.

2. What did I enjoy the most?
The part of the task that I mostly enjoyed was visual analysis. I enjoyed to looking at a variety of different artworks and gaining a deeper understanding of the message each artwork conveys.  I like to engage in various levels of contemplation that allow me to get down and explore deeper theories.

3. What did I not enjoy the most?
In fact, I don't really enjoy on task 3 very much, because we need to design a work of art based on the goal we choose, and we also need to apply some design principles when designing, which bothers me.  Although my hands-on ability is pretty good, my drawing skills are not very good. I always have many ideas in my mind, but I can't draw them out, which makes me very frustrated.

4. What have I learnt about myself through this module?
I found that my painting ability still needs to be improved. After observing other people's artworks, I found that my skills in creating large-scale paintings are still very immature, so I think I should work hard to find a way to solve this problem.

5. What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
I will add some design principles when designing, instead of drawing randomly like before.  I have also strengthened myself in creating my works with the message I want to convey.

6. What could be improved in this module?
I think some hands-on activities can be added, because I feel that practical exercises can help me get involved in learning faster and understand more clearly what we are learning.  I prefer hands-on practice to sitting and studying.
